Job Description

Preferred Education/Experience:

• A minimum of 12 years experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in a Computer or Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand the values and vision of the organization and align the activities accordingly

• Fulfill a variety of operational tasks and liaise with other line functions to collect or provide relevant data
• Design, implement and maintain java application phases
• Drive best practice, quality and consistency within design and development phases
• Identify production and non-production application issues
• Utilize and contribute to Creditex strategic codebase to design projects
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of java developed projects
• Provide technical support and consultation for java application and infrastructure questions
• Provide direct support to the management as requested
• Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed
• Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processes
• Recommend changes to improve established java application processes
• Develop technical designs for application development
• Develop application code for java programs
• Develop and execute unit test plans
• Support formal testing and resolve test defects
• Development, Maintenance and Support issues during the project lifecycle pre and post go-live
• Understanding the complex business functional specifications through the full software development lifecycle
• Evaluate, apply & lead adoption of new technologies and tools
• Provide technical assistance to other teams like Quality Assurance and business analysis
• Fixing the bugs as and when reported within the agreed time frames and Quality standards
• Work closely with management in various processes / projects to ensure communication and smooth implementation
• Monitor, coach and develop the team by sharing knowledge and providing training as necessary
• Perform continuous monitoring of program activities to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency
• Should have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, handling complex relationships, reporting to management and/or steering committees
• Demonstrate strong experience in change initiatives, with a track record of accomplishment in large, complex projects

• Must be proficient in Customer Relationship Management
• Excellent coding skills are essential especially in JAVA
• Proficiency in Core java, Spring boot, ORM, JavaScript and Tomcat
• Must have expertise in Java based web services, Relational Databases, SQL, J2EE framework, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, XML, X query, XSL, Test-Driven Development
• Must be experienced in Java Messaging System API, MVC, JDBC, and RESTful
• Expertise in Java GUI frameworks such as Swing, SWT and AWT depending on project requirements is essential
• Must have expert knowledge of build tools such as Ant, Maven and Gradle
• Experience using Ansible/Terraform
• Experience in scripting like Shell/Python/Groovy is required
• Expertise in build tools like ANT & MAVEN is required and exposure to Artifact management tools like JFrog is preferred
• Experience in Containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker & Kubernetes with exposure to using Helm charts.
• Experience in managing production environment deployed in Kubernetes and setting up autoscaling for Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR) Cluster and Kubernetes.
• Development experience in analytics engines like ELK Stack & Monitoring solutions like Prometheus & Grafana is desired.
• Expert-level experience in working with Jenkins, Github, Maven.
• Working experience on AWS and knowledge of AWS related technologies.
• Experience in delivering CI / CD pipelines for microservice-based applications from dev to stage to production
• Strong knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevOps principles. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in and demonstrated understanding of enterprise application deployment under Weblogic, Websphere, and/or JBoss strongly desired.
• Experience with UNIX, Linux is must. System Administration skills are strongly desired.
• Experience in and demonstrated understanding of source control management concepts such as branching, merging, and integration
• Experience in configuring and running code coverage tools like Karma Coverage, Jacoco, Cobertura
• Experience with RDBMS like MySQL, Postgres
• Experience in one or more VM technologies e.g. VMware/XEN
• Experience in AWS or related cloud technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fast learner, able to pick up new ideas and approaches quickly
