Job Description

Role: F5 Load balancer Engineer

Job Summary –

We are looking for a highly skilled networking professional with 8-12 years of experience as a F5 load balancer with comprehensive IP Network knowledge who performs end-to-end services for clients using a consultative approach.

Years of experience needed –

8-12 years of experience as a Network Engineer or experience in managing and leading infrastructure and network projects.

Technical Skills:

 Hands on CLI experience on F5 LTM and GTM

 Knowledge in deploying or decommissioning F5 product

 Experience in Decommissioning live F5 device.

 The Network Engineer must have 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience on Load Balancing (F5 preferred).

 Have hands-on experience in installation, migration and decommissioning of load balancing devices.

 Expertise of networking fundamentals including Network topology, VLANs, Routing, Switching, Global/Local Load Balancing and Firewalls.

 Fundamental understanding of scripting languages (e.g. Python, bash) and ansible automation.

 Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resiliency.

 Good understanding of REST API and container-based deployment models.

 Experience and comfortable working in a Linux CLI environment.

 Good at troubleshooting issues.

 Experience in standard industry change management processes and implementing methodical infrastructure change processes in a high-risk environment.

 Understanding of version and revision control practices and procedures.

Process Skills:

 Good exposure to the technology and involvement into day-to-day operations (Incident, Change & Problem

Management) of Network and Load Balancer.

 Should be willing to work in rotational shifts including night shifts.

 Should be willing to act as an on-call engineer as and when required.

 Advanced Level of Internetworking theory and practical applications

 Basic Level of Network diagnostic methods, tools, and interpreting packet captures

 Basic Level of Security and Risk exposure assessments and mitigation

 Proficient in analysis of business system requirements in a multi-platform distributed environment

 Excellent command of business knowledge

 Project management and process coordination

 Relationship building - ability to solicit input from internal and external sources.

 Change leadership OSI - Model

 Metrics and reporting Experience in IT- Infrastructure Projects. Infrastructure domain knowledge is essential.

 Knowledge in preparing / developing project schedules, estimation, establishing measures and milestones, definition, scoping, tracking etc.

 Experience in managing projects through use of processes like risk management, quality management, Issue/problem management & Scope change management.

Behavioral Skills :

 Ability to effectively manage relationships with other infrastructure teams, application teams, stakeholders, business, and customer representatives.

 Organizational skills with attention to task details, documentation, and target dates.

 Effective interpersonal, team building and communication skills.

 Must know when to ask for assistance. Must be approachable, teachable, a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding their experience in a highly evolving technical environment.

 Must have good time management skills and be able to meet rigid and urgent assignment schedules.

 Proven ability to influence the definition of technical strategies and design solutions.

 Flexible to work in off hours/weekends.

 Flexible to work in 24x7 on-call rotation.

Qualification:

 BE/B.Sc. degree or equivalent graduation Degree.

 8-12 years of relevant experience in F5 with good analytical skills.

 Must have excellent communication skills, flexibility to travel and run the show as individual contributor.

Certifications:

certifications desirable but not mandatory:

 101: Application Delivery Fundamentals

 F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA):201: TMOS Administration

 F5 Certified Technology Specialist in LTM :301b: LTM Technology Specialist Exam: Maintain & Troubleshoot

 Any F5 certification
