Analyst – APAC Macroeconomic Research

Job summary

To support APAC macro research team analyst of big investment bank – this includes proficiency in excel, good understanding of macroeconomic concepts, working knowledge of econometric soft wares, econometric modelling, analysing macroeconomic themes, and writing reports.

Job duties

• Create and update excel based databases on a regular basis.
• Gather data from various public sources and economic databases. Analysis of large datasets to identify patterns & trends
• Prepare dynamic charts for different economies to enable visualization of the relation between different key macro-economic indicators.
• Econometric analysis using time series and panel data regressions using econometric software.
• Assist in preparation and publication of daily, weekly and quarterly deliverables.
• Write short notes/commentary on economic data releases and weekly publications.
• Keep abreast with important macro-economic news/developments which impact the developed and emerging markets.

Qualification

• M.A or M.Sc in Economics from a reputed institute

Skills Required

• Comprehensive understanding of economic fundamentals
• Experience in macro-economic data analysis
• Should have exposure to report writing
• Should have good MS Excel skills
• Diligence, high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to interact with global clients
• Working experience of Bloomberg and Haver is preferred
• Strong written skills, including ability to effectively communicate economic/financial concepts
