Position Summary...

About Team :

You will play a pivotal role in architecting and constructing custom-grade applications and products in the People Technology sphere. Your primary focus will be on crafting innovative front-end solutions that directly impact over two million Walmart associates worldwide. Leading multiple teams, you'll mentor, motivate, and provide technical guidance, ensuring our projects thrive. Additionally, your input will be instrumental in fostering innovative ideas, implementing best designs, and mitigating technical risks with simple, effective solutions.

In addition to leading technical initiatives, you'll provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs. What you will bring:

- Drive Engineering Acceleration through platformization, automated testing, and CI/CD deployments on modern tech stacks such as GraphQL, Azure/GCP, and React.js, utilizing architectural acumen to define architectural specifications and blueprint for various components.

- Implement strategies for reusable components and standardized frameworks to enhance development efficiency and scalability, with a focus on defect management and troubleshooting to prevent recurrence of issues.

- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish and enforce engineering standards, ensuring consistency and excellence across the development lifecycle, while also driving requirement and scoping analysis to prioritize product enhancements and updates.

- Translate requirements into mobile solutions for multiple endpoints (such as iPhone, Android, Web), gathering essential information such as design documents, product requirements, and wireframes, with a strong emphasis on solution design and coding excellence.

- Lead coding initiatives to drive optimization and reduce errors, leveraging expertise in software architecture and distributed systems to create modular, extensible designs.

- Develop entry and exit criteria for testing phases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for functionality, performance, security, and integration, and drive execution of test cases to detect errors and defects.

- Provide support to relevant stakeholders to drive adherence to performance metrics of the program, manage CICD processes, and define metrics for effective monitoring of application performance.

- Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, while embodying Walmart's values and culture of servant leadership, curiosity, courage, and customer focus.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and minimum 18 years’ experience in software engineering Or master’s degree in computer science or related field and 15 years of work experience

·       Over 18 years of experience in building mobile & desktop user experiences, demonstrating advanced knowledge of front-end design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

·       Deep experience in using React, GraphQL, with a proven track record of creating functional automation testing using Appium or other open source automation frameworks.

·       Ability to write critical path code, scaffolds, and reusable components to accelerate engineering velocity, coupled with experience in cloud-native technology and CI/CD deployments.

·       Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude, alongside a genuine passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.-

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience building resilient Tier 0 production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)

·       Attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced start-up like environment.

·       Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

·       Nice to have Backend experience in either Java or Node.js development.
