Senior Systems Operations Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer.  To provide hands-on Level 1 & 2 application support (16X7) as part of a team across our entire global footprint including APAC, EMEA and America locations.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Site Reliability Engineer Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Good knowledge on observability tools, telemetry, CICD pipeline, Incident management which includes blameless PM and RCA
  • Hands on experience for APPD, APM, thousand eyes & grafana, prometheus
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives

Technical:

  • Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 6+ yrs of hands-on IT experience in Supporting Complex Windows/Linux environment web-based Java/.NET enterprise applications.
  • Writing SQL Queries for fault diagnostics, resolution or Change controls
  • Production Application Support including customer issues investigation and resolution.
  • Should be able to handle Change Requests and be able to deploy the application in Production/non-production environments.
  • A good working knowledge of Application servers and shell scripting
  • A good working knowledge of Window servers and Informatica
  • Should have worked on configuring monitoring tools for cloud applications and non-cloud applications
  • Should have good knowledge in Autosys

Non-Technical:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with US partners directly
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including debugging skills
  • Participating in testing and updating the business continuity plan
  • The flexibility to work in ad-hoc shifts when required.
  • Support coverage during weekends
  • The ability to understand team dynamics and use interpersonal skills and personal judgment to achieve goals
  • Should have good understanding in ServiceNow
