Position summary (Key requirements/Purpose of the job) : Responsibility of regulatory litigation; Regulatory SPOC to lead customer negotiations on various regulatory issues and also provide regulatory inputs on various Agreements and customer documentation; Managing internal stakeholders (Product, Finance, Networks etc.) and providing regulatory advice/inputs on new products/services i.e. New Product Initiative (NPI) to ensure compliance to license conditions and Government Regulations/Directions; Managing and maintaining the licensing compliance matrix within the organization and updating the same from time to time; Finalizing Customer facing terms and conditions in consonance with license and directions issued by statutory authorities; agreement by giving regulatory input for new products and services; Monitoring the progress of various issues in DoT, TRAI, MIB & Other Govt; Provide legal regulatory support and legal regulatory advice for RFP, bids, deals, opportunities, ongoing legal transactions; Ensuring zero non-compliance of regulatory norms in products and services offered by the Company.
Major Responsibilities:
· Managing key material regulatory litigation which will include drafting, finalising and giving inputs on pleadings, preparing end to end for litigation, coordinating with external lawyers and Senior Advocates.
· Interpretation of events from legal and regulatory perspective for management decision support.
· Legal Advice to Management on Regulatory aspects.
· Assessment of regulatory risks and opportunities on basis of global trends.
· Drafting and finalising notices, replies to Show Cause Notices etc. received from statutory authorities and conduct legal regulatory research on key legal regulatory issues.
· Collaborate with cross functional teams in interpreting key judgement, court order and directions issued by any court of law and disseminate the same to key stakeholders.
· Managing internal stakeholders (Product, Finance, Networks etc.) for various regulatory compliance and regulatory advice on key business initiatives/projects.
· Provide regulatory advice/inputs on new products/services and handling New Product Initiative (NPI) to ensure compliance to DoT license conditions and TRAI Regulations/Directions.
· Regulatory SPOC to lead customer negotiations on various regulatory issues and also provide regulatory inputs on various Agreements, customer documentation.
· Interface with Internal stakeholders and would be responsible for maintaining & uploading requisite information on various Government portals.
· Responsible for review and correction in various internal processes relating to licensing compliances on periodic basis with internal stakeholders for smooth operations.
· Take active participation with product to brainstorm and finalise the new innovative products and services catering to customer needs and increasing company revenue.
* Provide legal regulatory support and legal regulatory advice for RFP, bids, deals, opportunities, ongoing legal transactions (review of contracts and order forms) in a time bound manner.
Key performance indicators: Favourable orders in regulatory litigation matters, Ensuring timely filing of cases, petitions and complete pleading after collating required information from all stakeholders; Ensuring providing timely inputs to various CFTs on regulatory issues and participating in customer negotiations apprising the regulatory landscape of India, Providing timely inputs in the NPI process; Obtaining clarifications and approvals from various Ministries, statutory authorities as required by the Business Unit in timebound manner; Taking risk mitigation action in DoT, TRAI and MIB in respect of various ongoing compliance cases; Ensuring zero non-compliance of regulatory norms in products and services offered by the Company.
Qualification-Necessary Requirement: Having LLB degree with suitable experience in handling telecom related litigation; Knowledge in the domain of policy and regulation for the Telecom sector preferably having legal techno-regulatory expertise in the Telecom domain. In-dept understanding of technical and regulatory issues involving services provided under Unified License regime, Machine to Machine (M2M) communication, Contact centre Services and other voice services. Adept in drafting pleadings, responses to Show Cause Notices alongwith good oral and written communication skills.
Law graduate having 12-15 plus years of experience. Added Qualification in Telecom or Computer Engineering is preferable.
