What You Will Do 

The position is responsible for:

·    Designing and execution of global or regional projects linked to brand strategy.  From solid to liquid drug products, from medical devices to nutritional products, you will have the opportunity to showcase your capability across a wide portfolio of well-known brands including, Bactidol® , Benadryl®, Nicorette®, Tylenol®, Codral ® and Zyrtec®.

·    Your primary responsibility is to bring product innovation to life for our consumers – which includes having a full understanding of our consumers’ unmet needs and translating that into impactful product innovations that deliver on purpose of helping consumers realize the extraordinary power of everyday care. 

·    You will need to be a strong “integrator” – combining both Health Authority and internal Kenvue requirements on product performance & quality, together with a strong Design for Manufacturing mindset. This will mean you working with Analytical Teams, Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Plants (both internal and external), so you need to be a strong communicator and ensure our innovations deliver On-Time-in-Full.

·    We believe our innovative solutions can bring competitive advantage to Kenvue in various ways, so we are also looking for an individual that is curious, inquisitive, and constantly looking for opportunities that can unlock value for the business; this could be findings new ingredients to deliver a different sensory experience, designing a different manufacturing process that improves efficiency or assembling ingredients in a more sustainable way.

Key Responsibilities

·    Develop technical expertise in product design/formulation and process development/process scale-up.

·    Operate and lead with general technical direction.

·    Execute E2E innovation pipeline.

·    Execute technical project development including scale-up activities and analysis with hands-on involvement.

·    Participate in cross-functional project team (eg : R&D, Business, and Supply Chain) to define project R&D resources and OOP

·    Manage routine organizational processes and complexity.

·    Provide guidance and solutions to technical problems.

·    Draft and execute peer reviewed manuscripts, tech reports.

·    Data and insights based risk-taking and decision making.

·    Provide R&D progress/update to cross-functional project team.

·    Follow standards and ensure the department meets quality, medical and regulatory requirements.

·    Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior members of the team and identifies appropriate training courses to upskill the Team.

·    Provides good quality communication to line manager and junior members of the team as well as regional teams.

·    Understand formulation technology and chemical science.

·    Maintain awareness of new and emerging pharmaceutical technologies and the potential applications on our brands and products.

·    Manage day-to-day interaction with local, regional and global teams and/or external development partnerships (as needed)

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

·    Master’s degree with 8+ years or PhD degree with 5+ relevant work experience in fields related to innovation/product development.

·    Experience with formulations on Oral solids and liquid dosage products is must.

·    OTC -consumer health product -pharmaceutical product development experience is must.

·    A good technical foundation of formulated products including solids, liquids, emulsions, solutions, suspensions, an understanding of material chemistry, process equipment and packaging components is required.

·    Process development/process scale-up experience is required.

·    Experience working on consumer science studies, claims development is required.

·    Experience working with external manufacturing and technical project management is required.

·    Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required.

Desired Qualifications

·    Background in OTC- consumer health product- Pharmaceutical formulation and process development.

·    Capability of applying diversified expertise in technical principles and implications of product/technology outcomes on the larger function/organization.

·    Broad (e.g. global) knowledge of the Self Care business.

·    Knowledge of clinical strategies for both regulatory approval and/or claim substantiation including coordination of clinical supplies.

·    Has proven track record of formulation design, development, scale up and trouble shooting.

·    Experience with building and delivering presentations to leadership to both inform and influence decision-making.

·    Demonstrated experience in writing and/or approving applicable research documents for regulatory filings (e.g., IND, NDA) or product launches.

·    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments and divisions within and outside Kenvue to achieve desired outcomes.

·    Knowledge of IP strategy.
