Preparing and posting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies.

Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.

Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.

Analyzing financial data and providing recommendations.

Collaborating with other departments to maintain accurate records.

To excel in GL (General Ledger) reporting roles, here are some key skills you’ll need:

Accounting Knowledge: A strong grasp of accounting principles like GAAP or IFRS is essential.

Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret financial data and identify trends is invaluable.

Proficiency in Accounting Software: Familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle Financials is often required.

Microsoft Excel Expertise: Advanced skills in Excel, including formulas and data analysis, are highly beneficial.

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is usually required.

Advanced certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly valued.

Experience:

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, particularly in general ledger functions.

Familiarity with month-end and year-end close processes.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle Financials, or QuickBooks.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas and data analysis.

Knowledge of Accounting Standards:

A solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
