Description

The Amazon Search Relevance team is responsible for helping customers find relevant products that meet their expectations in terms of price, quality, and convenience. Our goal is to make shopping easy and enable customers to shop with confidence.

As a leader, you will manage scientists and engineers to deliver customer facing search improvements in rapidly growing categories. In practice, you will invent ranking signals and algorithms that improve keyword search at Amazon.


Key job responsibilities
* Lead multiple large scale high-impact projects
* Review and provide feedback to reporting scientists and engineers
* Publish work in internal and external top-tier conferences
* Provide inputs in team growth and goal planning
* Educate peers/team on the science best practices
* Expand the use of ML within the organization.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience directly managing scientists or machine learning engineers
- 5+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience
- Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree, or PhD
- Experience building complex software systems, especially involving deep learning, machine learning and computer vision, that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience hiring and growing top talent
- 5+ years of industry or academic research experience
