Key job responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Build strategic roadmaps by driving consensus among Product and Tech teams, be a catalyst in multiple feature prioritization and fast-track decision making, that impact the create/grow/deprecate stages of product lifecycle.
- Establish mechanisms that promote agility and engineering excellence through continuous iterations till you achieve optimal outcomes.
- Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and testing of the Amazon Finance Automation Solution
- Advise and consult with other SDM’s and Senior Engineers on design and architecture
- Provide support and coverage across regions while organizing and contributing to meetings representing your projects and programs effectively.
- Act as a subject matter expert by synthesizing the problems and the solutions into a simple and consumable manner, and communicate effectively to a cross-functional audience.
- Hire and mentor software engineers and actively participate in their career development
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies
- Be a proactive contributor to projects that develop new intellectual property

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
