Assistant Manager - IP Networking Sr. NCE (ASR 9K) L3

Broad outline of the Role

• Responsible for different aspects of engineering activities to provide differentiated services and solutions. These may also include product evaluation, solution designing and testing and roll out plan for existing and new services, including design of tools needed for operation of these new services and systems. This is an operational role, responsible for delivering results that have direct impact on day-to-day engineering operations in the respective areas of IP-MPLS and VPN areas for Service Provider or Enterprise domain

Purpose - Broad objective of the role

Working for a leading Industry OEM, ISP or Enterprise in MPLS and VPN areas.

Minimum qualification & experience

• Bachelors Degree in engineering or equivalent qualification (·    B.TECH / M.TECH BE/ BS)
• 5  to 7 Years in systems engineering or related experience.
• ·  CCNP R&S/SP must, CCIE Preferred.
• Ability to work in 24*7 Operations.

Key Skill Asks

•    Experience on product lines like ASR9K.  Should have HW architecture understanding of ASR9K. 
•    Must have architectural understanding of latest generation of ASR9K line cards such as Light Speed Plus, RP3 and RSP5
•    Must have extensive hands-on experience on XR cli
•    Working knowledge and experience BGP, ISIS, IP/MPLS, QoS, IPv6, is a must

Skillset 1

Skillset 2

•    Should have working experience in SP environment 
•    Working knowledge and experience BGP, ISIS, IP/MPLS, QoS, IPv6, is a must
•    Should know ASR9K OS and SMU upgrade process, migration etc

Skillset 3

•    Extensive experience in configuration and troubleshooting and/or Network Solution designing  
•    Should be able to handle technical queries from senior team members of customer 
•    Typical Deliverables includes but not limited to - config translations & features; Optional Lab testing / validation services for service/feature interop.

Key Responsibilities

• Systems engineering for front-end processors, cloud infrastructure, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems.
• Ensure timely rollout of system enhancements, migration, deployment, and optimization projects.
• Involved in planning, architecture designing, developing, and testing solutions and service products riding on network or across multiple network layers.
• Involved in the development of systems including storage, load balancers, servers, and routers/switches.
• Manage physical connectivity, hardware and automation tools.
• Resolve issues based on escalations from the end user.
• Perform integration with existing systems and conduct service validation prior to hand over to Service Operations team.
• Direct the assurance team in adopting measures for fault rate and ticket rate reduction.
• Ensure engineering Projects completed within target dates within budget and agreed scope.
• Performance tuning and automation of application.
