Director of Software Engineering to lead and inspire our high-performing engineering team for Smart Factory SaaS product. In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of our Software as a service development lifecycle. With 18+ years of experience, you bring a wealth of technical expertise and leadership acumen to oversee all aspects of the software engineering function, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative software solutions that align with our business goals.

Job Description

- Develop and execute a comprehensive software development strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.

-Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

-Define and implement efficient software development processes and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).

-Architect and oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of complex software systems.

-Attract, hire, develop, and retain top software engineering talent.

-Manage project budgets and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

-Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet user needs.

-Champion technical innovation and evaluate new technologies to drive competitive advantage.

-Oversee code quality, security, and maintainability.

More detailed responsibilities are listed as below :

SaaS Transformation:

• Lead the MFG’s SaaS transition from a single tenancy model to a multi-tenancy model.
• Develop and implement a standard SaaS tenant management control framework in collaboration with Technical Product Management, Product Management, Cloud Foundation Services and the Services team.

SaaS Tenant Lifecycle Management:

• Create and execute a comprehensive plan for SaaS tenant lifecycle management.
• Ensure effective integration and management of tenants throughout their lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across other Business Units within GE Vernova’s Electrification Software division.
• Standardize MFG’s SaaS model to integrate best-in-class Cloud Operations, FinOps and DevOps processes by utilizing existing Tools/Frameworks developed by Cloud Foundation Services.

Security Integration:

• Promote a security-first culture by advocating for organizational security best practices as outlined by the Cyber DevSecOps team.
• Transform existing infrastructure and application deployments to achieve SOC2 compliance.

Centralized GitOps Deployment:

• Guide the team towards adopting centrally managed GitOps-based infrastructure and application deployments.
• Simplify and streamline customer onboarding processes.

People Leadership:

• Responsible for developing & running high performance team 
• Develop and execute comprehensive growth and development plans for each team member.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to the team, ensuring continuous improvement and skill development.
