Software Engineer III - Automation Tester, Cypress, API Testing

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Ensures secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces Testing Framework architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Contribute to the creation of functional and regression test suites 
• Analyze test results, record test activities and track defects.  
• Manage priorities and set expectation when faced with multiple demanding tasks 
• Coordinate activities of the regression AT team, ensure test execution, review, recording of results & other metrics, reporting issues  
• Leading QA activities on a scrum teams 
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Experience in using test automation tools for API functional testing 
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (.NET, Java,) and scripting languages (Javascript.) 
• Experience in testing frameworks essential(Cypress, XUnit, TestNG etc) 
• Have a strong QA base, knowledge in testing types & practices 
• Have a strong knowledge on all phases of testing. 
• Previous coding experience essential 
• Ability to use initiative and willing to generate ideas to continuously refine testing  processes to improve quality. 
• Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins) 
• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. 
• ISTQB Certification is advantageous
