About the team

US Research and Development (US R&D) is a DS org within the Central Data Science team, focussed on solving BU-specific problems with cutting edge Data Science solutions. While some people sit in Seattle, the team has a large presence in India as well. The team collaborates with multiple BUs to ship AI powered Products. Our prime focus area will be Conversational Assistants, but not restricted to it always.

You are Responsible for

In this role, you are responsible for driving large, complex, multi-phased AI powered initiatives. You’d be working with the Data Science team on high visibility (Gen) AI initiatives with multiple stakeholder and Leadership to deliver DS solutions.
 

The role requires a proactive candidate with a high level of ownership, someone who can handle ambiguous scenarios. The role requires someone with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, evaluate opportunistic ideas and communicate these. Act as “the enabler” that the team can depend on.

To succeed in this role – you should have the following

Requirement & Responsibilities: 

• 2-4+ years of experience in the field of Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Product/ Program Management with the ability to work proactively and handle ambiguous scenario
• Closely work with Product on initiative level planning, requirement gathering and act as a channel of communication between Data Scientists, DS Leadership and Product
• Drive/ own e2e the Program from DS lens with strong stakeholder management influencing ability 
• Basic understanding of DS concepts and/ or Engineering lifecycle to effectively Program Manage
• Clearly articulate ground level status and blockers to key stakeholders and if required, with Leadership
• Collaborate with Ops, Product and Data Scientist and execute effective labeling to measure model metrics
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically to drive execution; on testing times, should be able to evaluate the tradeoffs 
• Collaborate with Product to understand short/ long-term initiatives based on Organizational/ Functional goals 
• Proven track record of taking ownership and of delivering results in a fast paced
  environment, including history of successfully delivering large scale projects 

Good to have: 

• High level understanding of Generative capabilities in the market 
• Understanding of overall Flipkart ecosystem and business with specialization in one/ some of the below fields:  
  • Conversational Assistants/ Chatbot
  • Customer Experience: Chatbot and Call center experience
  • Marketplace, Retail 
  • Seller world view 
  • Fulfillment & Supply Chain
  • Financial Payments worldview 
• Strong Data Science/ Analytics background with proven track record of solving large scale, high impact business problems
