JD – Application Developer

 Job Summary:

An Application Developer translates client requirements into application features and ensures the timely delivery of fully functional software applications. They are responsible for understanding client needs, designing prototypes, writing code, performing testing, and maintaining technical documentation.

 Job Responsibilities

• Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
• Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
• Design creative prototypes according to specifications
• Write high quality source code to program complete applications
• Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
• Perform unit and integration testing before launch
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
• Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

Must have: 

• 5+ years of experience in application development.
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience working using BDD approach, SAFe/Agile Methodologies & ability to translate user / business requirements to technical requirements & help create User Stories for team members.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics. Relevant master’s degree or certifications is a plus
• Frontend Development: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and framework/libraries such as Angular/React/Vue including leveraging component libraries and deploying on cloud using IaaS/PaaS services such as Azure App Service/AWS Amplify etc. Good experience working with Charting Libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, etc. including real-time charts/visualizations/cards. Knowledge of code quality & testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, WebDriver, Playwright, Augury etc.
• Backend Development: Proficiency in Nodejs/Spring boot, integrating SQL/NoSQL/Graph/Timeseries Databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL/MongoDB/Azure Cosmos DB/AWS DynamoDB using a Microservices Framework and interacting with REST/Graph APIs. Knowledge of code quality & testing tools such as Chai, Mocha, Postman etc.
• Architecture Understanding: Clear understanding of front-end and back-end processes and experience in designing architectures, APIs, requisite models etc.
• Version Control/DevOps: Good experience working with version control  tools such as GIT/SVN etc, Manual deployment. Knowledge of application deployment using CI/CD, container registries, app services on cloud infrastructure.
• Documentation: Designing HLD/LLD using Visio/Confluence.

Nice to Have:

• Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.

• Experience in DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines.
