Sr. Engineer
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the smelting facility, ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards
- Lead and mentor a team of smelting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize their performance
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize environmental impact
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies related to safety, environmental protection, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess equipment condition, process parameters, and overall facility performance
- Participate in the planning and execution of maintenance activities, shutdowns, and upgrades to optimize smelting operations
- Prepare reports, analyze production data, and present recommendations to management for operational enhancements and cost savings
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to proactively adapt smelting processes and practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 10 to 12 years of experience in the copper industry
- Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a smelting facility
- Demonstrated experience in optimizing production processes and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations
